There was only one long and narrow bathroom. It had a laundry in it which was moved.

I subdivided it into two bathrooms, which although relatively small, are nevertheless full baths and suit our situation very well.

To make this work, the door from the living room had to be moved to the right.

We had to strip all the plaster from the walls and get down to bare studs.

This is "after." Both bathrooms are small but functional. This one has a tub and a 24" vanity.

In order to get the tub in this room, the end of the tub had to go under the stairs. I built in a shelf for toiletries and it is all done in ceramic tile.

The master bathroom has two built in shelves, a deep one under the stairs (above the one in the other bathroom and the other between the studs for smaller bottles.

This cabinet is one that I had built for the old bathroom and was able to reuse in this one by cutting it down. I allowed a space behind it in which we put the plumbing stack, hot water heater flue, and a return air for the second floor. The shower is on the left.

Want to see how it got from "there" to "here"?
